I first came across Gucci Guilty Pour Homme Parfum while I was looking for my wedding scent. I was walking around Macy’s in New York smelling fragrances, and this was one I really liked. I ended up wearing YSL MYSLF at the wedding, but my wife bought me this one on her trip to Barcelona, so I got it anyway.

It came out in January 2022 as the stronger version of the Guilty Pour Homme line. I’ve been wearing it for almost six months now. In this review I go through the notes, how it wears, and who I think it works for. I also have a Gucci Guilty EDP review if you’re deciding between the two.

Pros and Cons of Gucci Guilty Pour Homme Parfum

Here’s the short version before I get into the details:

Pros:

  • Fresh opening with a warm dry down
  • Easy to wear to work, on a date or out with friends
  • Lasts about 8 hours on skin, a full work day
  • Rated 4.5 stars from over 2,500 reviews at Ulta
  • Heavy glass bottle with a dark metallic finish

Cons:

  • Full retail price is high (Ulta lists the 3oz at $202)
  • Some people find it a typical cologne scent
  • Projection is only moderate, so it won’t fill a room

Gucci Guilty Pour Homme Parfum Notes and Scent Profile

Here is the note list for Gucci Guilty Pour Homme Parfum:

  • Top Notes: Juniper, Lavender, Lemon
  • Middle Notes: Orange Blossom, Nutmeg, Spanish Labdanum
  • Base Notes: Dry Wood, Patchouli, Musk

The opening is fresh. Lemon, juniper and lavender come first. Gucci describes the lavender here as a lighter, more modern take on the original Guilty Pour Homme. The lemon smells like citrus peel more than juicy fruit, and the juniper and nutmeg give the opening a cool, woody feel.

The warmth I notice comes from the heart and the base. Gucci lists nutmeg, orange blossom and Spanish labdanum in the middle, and patchouli, dry woods and musk underneath. The heart is fairly restrained, and the labdanum gives it a light amber feel. By the dry down it smells musky and woody with a slight spicy finish.

Longevity, Projection and Sillage of Gucci Guilty Pour Homme Parfum

Longevity

You can expect about 8 hours on skin. It lasts me the whole work day, and sometimes a little longer. Some people get 10 hours or more, and a few say recent batches don’t last as long. On Ulta, long lasting is the thing reviewers mention most. How long it lasts still depends on your skin and where you spray.

Projection & Sillage

Projection is moderate. It’s easy to notice for the first hour or so, and then it sits closer to the skin. If you want something that announces you across the room, this isn’t it.

Who Is Gucci Guilty Pour Homme Parfum Best For?

I think Gucci Guilty Pour Homme Parfum works best for:

  • Everyday wear: it’s fresh enough for the day and warm enough to still feel good in the evening
  • Dates: I wear it on afternoon dates with my wife, and date night is the most common use Ulta reviewers mention
  • Going out with friends: it’s an easy one to throw on for a night out
  • The office: I wear it to work sometimes and it doesn’t feel out of place

Who Won’t Enjoy It?

It may not be for you if:

  • You want something unusual: some people find it a typical cologne scent, so it may not stand out
  • You’re on a tight budget: the full retail price is high, so shop around before you buy

Best Time of Day & Season for Gucci Guilty Pour Homme Parfum

I think of this as an all-round scent. Spring and fall are the most popular seasons for it, winter and summer are close behind, and day and night are nearly even. I’d skip it on the hottest days.

Packaging & Bottle Design

The bottle is heavy glass with a dark anthracite metallic finish, and the cap has the interlocking G logo. The box is dark with silver writing.

Gucci Guilty Parfum vs Gucci Guilty EDP

I wear both, and I have a full Gucci Guilty EDP review on the site. Here is how they compare:

  • Opening: the Parfum opens with lemon, juniper and lavender, so it starts fresh. The EDP opens with rose, red chilli pepper and a balsamic note, which is sharper and more savory
  • Heart and base: the Parfum has nutmeg, labdanum, patchouli and musky woods. The EDP has lavender, orange blossom and neroli over cedar and patchouli
  • Longevity: about 8 hours from the Parfum and 8 to 10 hours from the EDP
  • Projection: moderate for both
  • When to wear: the Parfum works for the office and the day as well as evenings. The EDP is better saved for evenings and cooler weather

If you want one bottle that works in most situations, I’d pick the Parfum. If you want something with more personality for nights out, the EDP is the one.

Where to Buy Gucci Guilty Pour Homme Parfum

You can get Gucci Guilty Pour Homme Parfum from FragranceX or Amazon. The 3oz bottle is around $82 right now, while Ulta lists it at $202. Prices change, so check both before you buy.

Gucci Guilty Pour Homme Parfum FAQs

Is Gucci Guilty Pour Homme Parfum worth the money?

At around $82 for 3oz I think it’s worth it. At the $202 Ulta charges it’s harder to justify. The price swings a lot depending on where you shop, so compare before you buy.

Conclusion

I found this one by smelling it at Macy’s, and I’ve kept wearing it because it’s fresh with a bit of warmth and works for the office, dates and nights out. The projection is only moderate and the full retail price is steep, so I’d buy it at a discount. If you want an easy, fresh scent with some warmth that works for most situations, I’d recommend it.
